Environmental InitiativesAligning Sustainability & Style “Sustainability is an attempt to provide the best outcomes for the human and natural environments both now and into the indefinite future.” When we think about our impact on the environment, we look beyond best practices and materials used in our homes. We think about what we can do in our daily lives, both personally and corporately, to help protect and preserve the environment. We not only have a responsibility to our homeowners, but, in a sense, we have a greater one to those who share our resources today and tomorrow. At Church Hill Homes, we are cultivating a culture that values sustainability as a way of life. The decisions we make every day reflect this value and are not market or cost driven. We are proud to part of the Blue Ridge Homebuilders Association and a home building community that share and support this value. Becoming Earthcraft certified is the first step of many towards offering every one of our future homeowners a home that is also a sustainable environment. Whenever possible, we will employ the use of sustainable materials and best practices that apply minimal pressure on our resources. As technology and research evolve, so will our business model. Our sustainability initiatives will complement our distinctive home designs. Our philosophy is “authentic quality over unadorned quantity” in every square foot of our homes. It’s this design philosophy coupled with our commitment to limiting our impact on the environment that will allow us to successfully align sustainability and style. In addition to our commitment to building sustainable, stylish homes, we have also begun several initiatives that reflect how the Church Hill Homes team is embracing a lifestyle that values sustainability. These initiatives include an office recycling program, an employee recycling center, participation in a carbon dioxide offsetting program for our corporate and personal vehicles, and purchasing a Hybrid corporate vehicle.
